Price and print status go stale in a day. Here is the cycle that keeps the record fresh.
A book's record is not something entered once and left. Prices change, printings run out, new printings are prepared.
The daily cycle
New book and price information is taken directly from the publisher, verified by the data team and goes live the same day. Print status is updated in the same cycle.
- Notification from the publisher
- Field checking and filling gaps
- Placement in the category tree
- Opening to the service
Why it matters
When the price shown on the channel is the price the publisher gave, returns and customer disputes fall directly. Holding the record in one place is what makes that possible.
